A church in a mountainside village that was a feast for the eyes and ears 🇫🇷

In the center of the town, there is a cathedral built in the 11th century in the Romanesque style of southern France. It is known as a pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages because it contains the relics of a saint, and it is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many people have been visiting since early in the morning. The monk explained about the 124 statues for about 30 minutes. Above the entrance to the Sainte-Foy Cathedral, you can see a tympanum (a semicircular decoration on a door or window, an architectural style often used in ancient Greece and the Middle Ages) with elaborate carvings of the Last Judgement, angels, and devils. After mass in the magnificent cathedral, we sang in unison, and the voices and organ sounds resonated for a long time. If you want to go up to the second floor and listen to the organ performance up close, it costs €6. The organ performance was not over yet, but I followed the people to the front of the cathedral, and the laser show began, shooting light at the statues I had seen earlier in time to the organ music. The 124 sculptures of the tympanum began to seep into the light one by one, and finally, one work of art was completed.
