Daejeon Spring Travel Hanbit Tower

#SpringTravel Hanbit Tower at Daejeon Expo is a symbolic sculpture built to commemorate the 1993 World Expo, the first Expo officially recognized by the International Exhibition Organization of Korea in Daejeon Metropolitan City. It is 93m tall. The exterior was designed with motifs of light, science, and space, and each sculpture was given many meanings related to the Expo, along with the name meaning a ray of light connecting the present and the future based on the wise past. The 1,993 granite stones at the bottom, meaning 'past', represent the year of the event, 1993, and Cheomseongdae. Also, the central part, meaning 'present', represents the current advanced science of Korea. In addition, the cone at the top, meaning 'future', represents the will of Koreans to rise and leap forward into the future. It was initially operated by Hanwha Group, but is currently directly operated by Daejeon Marketing Corporation. It was closed due to the COVID-19 virus and reopened on Thursday, May 21, 2020.
