🌵Kubuqi Desert in INNER MONGOLIA

This place is probably where I’ve had most fun in all of China! In this area of the Kubuqi Desert you will find 3 main things: 🛏 lodging 🍗 food 🏎 quads and all of it is absolutely incredible, cost for benefit, entertaining, and relaxing at the same time. Let’s go by parts. 🛏 LODGING Here there are some containers - yes, actual containers - that have been transformed into nice little rooms. These containers were a 10/10 and so much nicer than other hotels I had paid double the amount for in other cities in Inner Mongolia. The rooms were super clean and tidy, equipped with AC, had a ~huge~ and comfortable bed, nice sheets, an excellent shower with warm water, and even some basic toiletries. They also offered some snacks like instant noodles, cookies, and water for an extra charge. The curtains were black out, so we were able to sleep very well and wake up at a reasonable time the next day. Each night cost around ¥200. 🍗FOOD A few meters ahead of the container rooms, there is a little central restaurant. I believe it’s family owned, so everyone around is super nice and tried to cater to all our needs. We pre-ordered a lamb leg (typical Inner Mongolia dish) in the afternoon and they would prepare it by dinner time. They had several options for side dishes and although some were out of stock, everything they served was delicious. Reasonable price for a great amount of food. And they also had Wi-Fi there! 🏎QUADS The best part. You can rent the quads by the hour, but since it was quiet and we were pretty much the only laowais there, the owners were super relaxed about time and just let us have our fun. The reason this was the best part is because as soon as we got on them and asked how far we could go, the owner just said “whatever, have fun”! We were able to drive around the ~huge~ desert area and explore all the hills! It was truly an unforgettable experience and so worth every rmb! 🌟 This is also where I’ve seen the most beautiful, starry night sky in China. It took my breath away and it was refreshing to just take some minutes to lay on the cold sand and observe the sky. #thisischina #desert #innermongolia
