Dalian's City Bookroom Closest to the Clouds, a Healing Reading Space

📍 Moshang Bookhouse Located at Unit 3, 42-02, Yujing Yujin Building in the center of Zhongshan District, you can reach it by exiting from the 4th floor of Baiwinian and heading to the building on the left. After taking the elevator to the 42nd floor, turn left and you'll see it. When I visited, there were a few customers, but everyone was quietly doing their own thing. The owner was warm and friendly, but didn't overly disturb introverts like me who experience a bit of social anxiety, which made it very comfortable. The bookstore has two floors with many different areas, including not only bookshelves and seating but also study areas, movie-watching spaces, and more. This time I picked up a collection of short stories by Jia Pingwa and finished reading several stories by the window. I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't read physical books for quite a while, so touching paper again and hearing the sound of turning pages was quite therapeutic. The bookstore's cat really liked me! While I was sitting on the sofa daydreaming, it jumped onto me to play, then lay down beside me. As someone who has kept cats for a long time, my heart completely melted. Finally, I watched the sunset from the floor-to-ceiling windows, which offered a different perspective from what I'm used to. As I watched the golden light shining on buildings and roads gradually fade away, I wrote today's journal entry in the mood guestbook. Being able to enjoy a quiet moment to yourself for just the price of a coffee or entrance ticket is really worth it. Since it's a reading space, I didn't take photos with my camera for fear the shutter sound would disturb others. All the photos this time were taken with the Dazz camera app on my phone. It was my first time trying Dazz, and while I was a bit awkward with it, I quite like the color tones.
