Complete Guide to a Nine-Day Tour in Western Sichuan

I took the grand loop route in Western Sichuan (see figure 5), which requires at least 7 days, not including the travel time from your location! So make sure you have enough time before you set off! 1. Travel from your location to Chengdu and rest for one night. The next day, head to Kangding and then to Honghaizi. The scenery along the way is stunning, especially if it's a clear day. The altitude gradually increases to around 3500 meters. 2. To catch the sunrise on the golden mountain, we headed to Yuzixi, an excellent viewing spot. However, if the weather is poor, it's not worth the trip. We were late that day, so the weather was just so-so, and we missed it. We stayed overnight in Xinduqiao! 3. On the third day, we traveled from Xinduqiao to Litang, passing through Tuer Mountain with its beautiful scenery. We stayed overnight in Litang! 4. On the fourth day, we set off for Shangri-La Town. After settling in, we bought tickets for the direct bus to Daocheng Yading the next day. Daocheng Yading has a grand loop and a small loop. If you're physically fit, definitely challenge the grand loop. It's an 11-kilometer hike. Only after visiting Daocheng Yading will you truly appreciate the charm of nature and feel its immense energy! We stayed overnight in Shangri-La Town! 5. On the fifth day, we left Daocheng Yading for Ganzi County and stayed in the county town. The next day, we set off for Seda! There are two ways to get to Seda: buy a direct bus ticket for 168 yuan, which includes a guide to the mountain, or buy a ticket online in advance for 30 yuan, and then take a 3-yuan public bus to the mountain upon arrival in Seda. You must spend a full day in Seda, from morning till night. Normally it's not allowed, but we found a way, which made for a very satisfying day (you can private message me for the method). 6. On the way back from Ganzi County, we stopped by Moshishan Park to check in, and then rushed to Danba to stay overnight! You must go into Moshishan Park to see the plateau's stone forest; it's stunning. The whole journey is a little over an hour's hike! 7. From Danba towards Chengdu, pass through Shuanggou Bridge and Mount Siguniang. The scenery here is also beautiful. It takes about 2 hours to tour by car. However, after you've done the grand loop in Daocheng Yading, you might find Mount Siguniang just average. That's my feeling . Afterwards, it's a 3-hour drive back to Chengdu! This is the entire grand loop route! Transportation: We joined a small group tour with a professional driver to guide us. The group fee was less than 3000 yuan , including travel and accommodation! Precautions: Carry enough oxygen throughout the trip, as the altitude ranges from 3000 to over 5000 meters starting from Chengdu. Prepare motion sickness medicine, water, sunglasses, and sun protection tools! For clothing, long sleeves are necessary this season, along with a windbreaker and comfortable shoes! If you go to Seda, bring some bright clothes! My anti-altitude sickness tools were Yi Jiu Jiu Ai Jiu patches, which were very effective. I also took NMN from Ai Wu Zhi, which kept me from feeling tired or dizzy during the 5-7 hours of travel each day, and I felt very comfortable! This is my travelogue of Western Sichuan.
