Datong Ancient City Wall Photo Guide to Guarantee Stunning Photos for Your Social Circle

📍The existing city wall of Datong Ancient City was built in the fifth year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1372) by the Ming general Xu Da, based on the old city foundations from the Han, Wei, Tang, Liao, Jin, and Yuan dynasties. It is square-shaped. There are four city gates: the East Gate is Heyang Gate, the South Gate is Yongtai Gate, the West Gate is Qingyuan Gate, and the North Gate is Wuding Gate. 👉In the afternoon, after leaving Fahua Temple, you can conveniently walk to Heyang Gate, stroll around there (photos 17-18), and then climb the city wall at Heyang Gate, walking all the way to Wuding Gate. ‼️There is a lantern exhibition near Wuding Gate (photos 13-15), with an entrance fee of 20 yuan. If you need to use the restroom midway, you can come down and then re-enter the wall later with your ticket purchase record. 🌟The lanterns along the way are beautiful, and the night view at Wuding Gate is even better. The 20 yuan ticket is truly a great value. ✅Photo Tips: 1️⃣Standing on the city tower facing south, you can photograph Kuixing Tower. The lighting colors of Kuixing Tower change, including: magenta, red, orange, yellow, blue, purple, and light purple, each color looks great. 2️⃣It is recommended to take a full circle around the Wengcheng (barbican) and the Moon City, trying different angles. 3️⃣Photo 1 was taken on the Moon City. 4️⃣All photos are straight from my phone without filters; night mode and a tripod for stability are recommended. ✅There are also two great check-in spots at the city gates: 1️⃣There is a Xinhua Bookstore under Heyang Gate. 2️⃣There is the China Sculpture Museum under Wuding Gate.
