Wat Phra That Doi Saket

In 2014, there was a little buzz when Phra Phothirangsi (Phayap Thitpunyo), the abbot of Doi Saket District and also the abbot of Wat Phra That Doi Saket, had a vision of a light rising on the top of this mountain. He took the temple workers to search for it, holding an umbrella and poking through the dry leaves that had piled up. They found the footprint of the Buddha in the forest rocks. He had the workers wash it with water. It turned out that it was a very complete footprint of the Buddha, so he told the faithful who came to make merit. Until the relatives and devotees spread the word by word of mouth, so a pavilion was built to temporarily cover it.
