I've been in Dongguan for ten years and only just discovered this beautiful hiking route

Shuilian Mountain Forest Park is one of the six major forest parks in Dongguan. The park covers a total area of about 6,000 acres, with the main peak standing at an altitude of 378 meters. Shuilian Mountain was formerly known as Pengdong Mountain. Due to its continuous mountains, waterfalls, lush trees, and beautiful scenery, many famous scholars and literati have visited since the Ming and Qing dynasties, leaving behind poems and essays such as 'Pengdong Shuilian's beautiful scenery.' Shuilian Mountain Forest Park began planning and construction in 2002. Enter and follow the main road on the left. This route is all uphill, quite tiring, and the scenery is average. It takes about an hour to reach the top. 2️⃣Route 2 Hike from the park entrance to the temple. There are two forks in the road. I took the mountain trail opposite the temple, which is a gentle uphill route with only a few steps. It is relatively easy and passes through attractions such as Shuilian Cave, Tianchi, and Jinfeng Peak. However, it takes about two hours to reach the top. ⚠️Notes 1. The weather has been rainy recently, and the temperature difference and wind on the mountain can easily cause colds. Remember to bring a windbreaker. 2. Do not climb the mountain when it rains. You can wait until the rain stops. The steps can be slippery when wet, so be careful. 3. Bring some snacks and water. There are many snack shops and convenience stores at the park entrance. 4. Pay attention to sun protection and mosquito bites. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes for hiking. 5. Pet-friendly, so bring your pets for a weekend outing!
