Lu Yuanping

Lu Yuanping is located in Xintian Village, Banqiao Town, Enshi. This is the only ancient village in Enshi that is not accessible by road. Lu Yuanping is deeply trapped in the crevice of the canyon, surrounded by cliffs. It is said that during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a pair of Pei brothers discovered a flat area with lush trees at the bottom of the valley while exploring the terrain for planting rice. A river flows in the middle, with hundreds of waterfalls hanging on the side. Later, they were led out of the predicament by mountain deer, so they moved here, multiplied and thrived. It was first called Lu Yinping, but because deer often visited people's courtyards, they named it Lu Yuanping. The legend about the divine deer adds more legendary color to this place!
