The painting of Saint Peter being freed with the help of an angel, created by Matthias Stom, who is estimated to have been born around the 1600s, left a strong impression with Saint Peter's incredibly realistic expression of surprise. The collaborative work by Guercino and Andrea Vaccaro caught my eye with Saint Catherine depicted holding a sword and a brush in both hands. In Nicola Malinconico's painting of the Calling of Saint Matthew, a small child in the left corner points at Saint Matthew while gazing at the viewer, which was quite intriguing. It made me wonder if the artist might have painted himself in the moment when Saint Matthew was called by Jesus. I highly recommend visiting the Bari Art Museum, where you can encounter paintings that are not commonly seen and immerse yourself in various fascinating stories.
