walking trail at Mt Takao

#fallishere For those in Tokyo looking for a day trip, I would recommend heading out to Mt Takao. It's only a 50 minute train trip from Shinjuku but feels like you are so much further away from the bustle of Tokyo. For the very fit, you can walk the entire trail but there is also a cable car and chair lift which take you half way up and then it is just gentle, paved walking from there. If you are not afraid of heights or anxious then I would recommend taking the chair lift, it is a really breath taking way to get up the mountain but it's a little daunting getting on and off as it's much like a ski lift chair with no rail or bar or seat belt etc!!! There's some food stalls, a monkey park and a few other small attractions on the way up.
