#VisitChiangMai “Wat Ton Kwen” is a small temple in Nong Kwai Subdistrict, Hang Dong District, Chiang Mai Province. The word “Ton Kwen” means wild jujube tree. It has dark red to purple edible fruits. Inside the temple, there is a Kwen tree, so it was named Wat Ton Kwen before the name was changed to Wat Intharawat. However, Chiang Mai people still prefer to call it Wat Ton Kwen. Wat Ton Kwen is an ancient temple with a very beautiful appearance. An interesting thing is the four-sided pavilion, which is the only one found in the North. In addition, the original Lanna art in this temple is considered a complete and valuable prototype. The Association of Siamese Architects announced it as an outstanding conservation building in 1989.
