The Khingan Mountains

#getgoing2025 Range Green, one of the four theme colors of the upcoming 9th Asian winter games in Harbin City, draws its inspiration from the vast and luxuriant forests in the Greater Khingan Mountains and Lesser Khingan Mountains in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. The Khingan Mountains are home to the largest natural forest barrier in northern China. Following the ban on commercial logging in 2014, many workers in state-owned forestry companies turned to plantation or became forest rangers. New industries have also emerged relying on the natural resources, such as tourism and underforest industries. The region has not only seen ecological restoration through these years but also experienced a transformation and development in its economy.
