Grappas Cellar (CWB)

We were happy to discover that @grappascellar moved all the way from Central to the basement of @leegardenshk and is still as spacious as before 🥳 Upon being seated, the waitress served us a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic 🍞 It was a pity that we didn’t get to see their famed live performances as we visited on a weekday night 🎵 [𝗖𝗮𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗱] We started off with a well-balanced caesar salad that was full of crisp pancetta bacon bits, crunchy croutons and huge parmesan cheese flakes. What made it so good was definitely the chilled fresh romaine lettuce paired with the light creamy homemade dressing 👏🏻 [𝗚𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗶] With a chewy texture like rice cakes, the gnocchis were made of potato and pumpkin, yet we couldn’t really taste the pumpkin flavor due to the rich cheese sauce 🧀 The colorful bell peppers added a brightness to the dish in terms of both texture and flavor. [𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮] The pizza was loaded with smoked salmon, which was unfortunately a little too salty for me, so I couldn’t fully enjoy the charred crust and base cheese of the pie. I guess my expectations were too high from the Peking Duck Pizza we had for lunch on our previous visits to Jardine House 😌 [𝗧𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘂] To end our meal on a sweet note, we ordered their specialty dessert. The savoiardi biscuits were soaked in a boozy mixture of espresso and cognac, which went delightfully well with the velvety mascarpone cream and mixed berries on the side 🤤 [𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗿 & 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗲] We were lucky to catch the last of the happy hour discount till 7:30pm 🍻The menabrea beer is a mild Italian lager that was more on the sweet and malty side.
