West Kowloon Xiqu Centre ~ A great place for the elderly to escape the heat in summer

The weather is hot in summer. My parents are not in good health and suffer from three highs. They are not suitable for outdoor activities under the scorching sun. But it is not good for them to stay at home all the time. So I decided to go to the Xiqu Center in the West Kowloon Cultural District with them in the evening to watch Cantonese opera. Last Sunday, we set out at 6pm, took the MTR to Austin Station, and exited from Exit E to the Xiqu Centre. The scenery near the Xiqu Centre is also nice, and there are many seats for people to rest. There are also restaurants, light food shops and shops, which combine leisure, entertainment and food! It was the Hong Kong Opera Festival, so there were many local operas to enjoy, such as Sichuan Opera, Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, etc. As Hong Kong people, we chose Cantonese Opera, the song was: Blood and Spring and Autumn. It was performed by many Cantonese Opera stars: Yin Feiyan, Li Long and Ruan Shaohui. It started at 7:30 and ended at 11:10. Because my parents are elderly, they had a half-price discount, and the ticket price per person was only 140 yuan, while I paid the full price, which was 280 yuan. It was very worthwhile, and it was rare to be able to enjoy the performances of so many artists at once! In the hot summer, you can enjoy the air conditioning indoors while watching cultural performances, which is also a good place to cool off! #weekendtrip #localtour #goodplacesinhongkong #goodplacesinsummer

Visit the Palace Museum on a sunny day🌈 I booked a flight through the China Travel Service app before departure and waited to enter the venue at 10 a.m. on the day of departure. Although there were many people, the process was smooth. We bought a regular ticket that allows us to visit Halls 1-7 (adults: $50, discount: $25). After entering, we can take our time to visit. If we need to leave in the middle of the visit, we can ask the staff for a handbag and then return to the museum. The museum displays many precious cultural relics from the Palace Museum, some of which have never been publicly exhibited. There are many leisure areas inside, where you can walk and rest, and spend a day easily~ Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday 10:00am to 6:00pm Friday, Saturday and public holidays 10am to 8pm #localtourism #goodplacesforfamily #familytravel #Augustvlog #goodplacesinhongkong #goodplacesinsummer #museum #recommendedmuseums
