As the name suggests, Big Wave Bay is a favorite among Hong Kong’s surfer tribe. You can be prepared to share the swells with dozens of surfers on weekends Located on the eastern end of Hong Kong Island, Big Wave Bay Beach is often a good alternative to Shek O Beach. Although not as commercial and large as Shek O Beach, Big Wave Bay surely has a different (surfer) vibe. Get off at the junction of Shek O Road with Big Wave Bay Road (at a sharp U-turn) from where it is about 10 minutes walk to Big Wave Bay Village and beach. You can also hike your way to Big Wave Bay Beach. We have three hiking trails that end at Big Wave Bay: Dragon’s Back to Big Wave Bay Chai Wan to Big Wave Bay Siu Sai Wan to Big Wave Bay.
