A Hidden Gem of a French Restaurant in Tai Kwun

Spent the weekend at Tai Kwun watching a performance, and after the show, we decided to grab a bite at this French restaurant near the entrance. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with brick walls and wooden doors and windows that exude a sense of elegance. The dinner set menu is priced at $368 per person, including four appetizers, a choice of one main course, and a dessert, making it a very fulfilling meal. Pumpkin and Beetroot Salad with Greek Cheese The salad appetizer features ingredients like quinoa, pomegranate, onion, asparagus, pumpkin, and goat cheese. It has a delightful texture and a tangy flavor that is very appetizing. Grilled Chicken Skewers, Roasted Cauliflower Bites, and Tomato Risotto Balls Another platter includes three appetizers. The chicken skewers are grilled to perfection without being dry, the cauliflower is roasted with spices for a fragrant taste, and the highlight is the crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside fried risotto balls. Grilled Sea Bass with Creamy Mushroom Spinach The sea bass is thick and grilled to a slightly crispy exterior, while the fish itself is tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and spinach on the side are equally delicious. Pan-Seared Beef Flank Steak with Black Pepper Sauce The steak was ordered medium, perfectly seared to lock in the juices, with a pink center that shows the precise control of the heat. The beef is tender and rich in flavor. For dessert, we shared two options: French crepes with ice cream and French chocolate mousse. The crepes paired with vanilla ice cream were sweet and soft, while the mousse had a rich chocolate flavor without being overly sweet.
