An astronomical sum of $16 million was spent on its construction, so the villa was a palace-style house that symbolized wealth and power at the time. Many Hong Kong people are most impressed by its "Tiger Tower" and the relief carvings of the Ten Courts of Hell, commonly known as the "Eighteen Layers of Hell", such as "Falling into the Oil Wok" and "Hooking the Ligand Tendons".
