the Trulli's in Alberobello

We visited the Trulli's in Alberobello last July and this was a highlight of our entire trip to Puglia. These small white stone buildings with their domed stone roofs are a treasure to behold. We were truly impressed with how well these old buildings have held up and been maintained through the centuries. Clean and freshly whitewashed, they almost appear as if they had been recently constructed. Invited to visit inside, we were amazed at the details of the brickwork forming the arched separations between the small rooms and the interior design and structure of the domed roofs. The number of these Trullis - an entire village of them - was also surprising.
