In the historic district we must point out the Encarnación Church, built in the 17th century, known as the Cathedral of Alpujarra. This Mudejar building with a Baroque style is quite large and very well preserved. It was built on the foundations of a mosque. Inside it preserves the Inmaculada image from Alonso Cano’s studio, as well as several Flemish paintings.
