You can reach Lyon from Paris in about two hours by TGV. The old town of Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a nostalgic atmosphere that is distinct from Paris. [Place Bellecour] At the heart of Lyon, Place Bellecour features a statue of Louis XIV at its center, along with a statue of "The Little Prince" inspired by the famous author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who was born in Lyon. At night, the Ferris wheel is illuminated, creating a beautiful scene. The information center located here offers the Lyon City Card, a tourist pass that provides free access to museums and special exhibitions, as well as free use of public transportation within Lyon. [Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica] Situated on Fourvière Hill, accessible by cable car, the Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica stands out with its intricate sculptures and stunning interior design. The golden statue of Mary atop the chapel roof shines brightly. At night, the basilica is illuminated, offering a different kind of beauty. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Lyon. It's a spot worth visiting both during the day and at night. [Ancient Roman Theater] Located about a 5-minute walk from the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Ancient Roman Theater is the oldest Roman Empire-era ruin in France, built in 15 BC. It is said to have accommodated up to 10,000 spectators at the time. It's incredible that it has survived to this day—it feels like stepping back in time.
