Chiang Saen National Museum is classified as a branch of the National Museum of Archeology. Exhibits focus on archeology and art history, related to the establishment of a community from the beginning of the prehistoric period to the historical period. Chiang Saen National Museum was established in 1957 and is a 50-year-old museum considered to provide a profound preview of the past of Chiang Saen town. The Museum features displays of excavated artefacts and ancient sculptures with inscriptions, locally made Chiang Saen-style. Buddha images and Lanna Thai artefacts. Other exhibits include Lanna-style objects of daily use such as pots, weapons, baskets, fish traps, fish nets and cooking vessels. 🌤️ Wat Chedi Luang, Chiang Rai is an ancient temple in Chiang Saen. 🌤️ Phra That Chedi Luang got its name from the large pagoda enshrined in the temple, which is 88 meters high and has a base of 24 meters wide. It is the largest Lanna bell-shaped pagoda in Chiang Saen. 🌤️ Inside the chapel of Wat Chedi Luang, there is a Buddha image enshrined on a raised base, decorated in northern style art.
