Phu Manorom Buddha Footprint Temple

Phu Manorom Buddha Footprint Temple is located in Ban Khao Manorom, Village No. 9, Na Si Nuan Subdistrict, Mueang Mukdahan District, Mukdahan Province. The temple is 5 kilometers away from Mukdahan city center. Inside the temple, there are important ancient sites and artifacts, including Phra That Phu Manorom, Phra Angkhan Phen, a record of the temple's construction on a single plaque attached to the back of Phra Angkhan Phen, and a small replica of the Buddha's footprint made of sandstone, 80 centimeters wide. There is also a large Buddha statue beautifully situated on the hilltop and the statue of the Naga named Luang Pu Sri Mukda, said to be the celestial Naga, 122 meters long, with beautiful and prominent blue patterns, facing the Mekong River. During the Songkran festival every year, Buddhists from Mukdahan and Savannakhet Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, come together to pour water on the Phu Manorom Buddha Footprint for good fortune. From the temple area, tourists can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mukdahan city, the Mekong River, the 2nd Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge, and Savannakhet Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic. Although Mukdahan is a small secondary city, it is full of charm, with art, culture, friendly people, and beautiful nature.
