Attracted by the mysterious mountain, he climbed to the top. When a forest fire broke out, wild dogs appeared, put out the fire and guided the way. For this reason, the mountain was named "Hodosan". It is now Hodosan Shrine, but it is known as one of the three Chichibu shrines along with Chichibu Shrine and Mitsumine Shrine.
