Hiking the Bai Zhi Mountain Loop in Nanchuan.

There are many route guides available. Remember to download the route in advance and follow the route on the Two Steps app. The route is about 15 km long and takes 7–10 hours to hike. We recommend starting at 8 am to allow enough time to enjoy the scenery along the way! Reasons for recommendation: 1. The altitude is about 1,500–2,000 m, and the route is mostly through bamboo forests. Even if the temperature in Nanchuan is over 30°C, the temperature on the mountain is only a little over 20°C, and there is always a breeze, so it is very cool and not sunny. 2. There are many beautiful animals. We saw nearly ten squirrels and some beautiful birds along the way. You need to pay attention to them, as they are usually in the bamboo forest or on the road. 3. The Sun and Moon Cave is very photogenic, and the wind is very strong and comfortable. 4. The Swallow Cave is also very photogenic, and the water and wind are very cool. The cave hall is only 100 m from the entrance, and the temperature difference is about 10°C. (The toilet here is on the cliff, and the view is very special.) 5. There are many plants along the road, such as mushrooms, houttuynia cordata, and plantain. 6. The whole route is not difficult, and there are many camping and accommodation options nearby. The route includes streams, cliffs, waterfalls, mud roads, stone roads, caves, and other scenery. 7. The 15 km loop takes you from Chongqing to Guizhou and back to Chongqing. Tips: 1. There are many large mosquitoes, so bring mosquito repellent. 2. There is no signal in most places. 3. A large part of the route is a horse trail (muddy) and a dry creek. It is not recommended to go there for a week after it rains. 4. Some areas are on cliffs, so be careful of falling rocks.
