Free Plum Blossom Viewing Spots in Nanjing

Many out-of-towners only know to visit Plum Blossom Hill (Meihua Shan) to see plum blossoms, but there's another place that's great for photos, and it's free: Mei Gang. The peak blooming period typically begins around mid-to-late February, and the blossoms start to wither in mid-to-late March. Therefore, the best time to appreciate the plum blossoms at Mei Gang is from mid-to-late February to early-to-mid March. Most of the blossoms have already opened, and next week is expected to be the best viewing time. Starting from the archway of the Erquan Houshan Scenic Area, there's a winding path. Follow it, and you'll discover a plum grove, adding to the joy of seeking out the blossoms. The plum trees here are surrounded by a long corridor, and the ancient architecture complements the plum blossoms, creating a charming, antique atmosphere. To get there, take Subway Line 1 to Zhonghuamen Station and walk for 15 minutes. Alternatively, take a bus to the north gate of Yuhuatai Scenic Area, turn left after entering, and follow the signs for about 5 minutes. If driving, navigation won't take you directly to Mei Gang. First, navigate to the north gate of Yuhuatai Scenic Area. There's a parking lot near the north gate. Then, follow the walking route mentioned above.
