Guangxi's No. 1 Street

If you drive from the G72 Quannan Expressway to Nanning, passing the "Nanning East" toll station means you have entered Minzu Avenue in Nanning. The avenue is 25 km long, running east to west, and is the longest street in Guangxi, known as "Guangxi's No. 1 Street." A long avenue is not surprising, but the key is that this avenue connects important places such as politics, tourism, commerce, and transportation. About 10 km from the toll station, you will encounter the first traffic light, and Nanning's largest bus station is here, where many tourists take buses to Nanning and get off here. Continue driving west, and you will pass the MixC shopping center, Shimen Forest Park entrance road, Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, Wharton International Hotel, Guangxi Museum, Guangxi Science and Technology Museum, and Zhongshan Road Night Market on the left; and Nanning East Station, Nanning Station entrance road, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People's Hall, and Sanjie Erxiang Historical and Cultural Street on the right; passing through Nanhu Park and Minzu Square, the end of the road is Changyou Pavilion on the north bank of the Yongjiang River. Minzu Avenue was built in 1978, initially only a few kilometers long, and gradually expanded eastward, eventually moving the Quannan Expressway "Nanning East" toll station eastward, forming today's scale. Now Minzu Avenue has 8 lanes in both directions and is the main urban road with the largest traffic flow in Nanning. A large section of Metro Line 1 is under Minzu Avenue, forming a new three-dimensional transportation system. The road's green trees are palm trees, kapok trees, etc., and the flowers are Nanning's city flower, hibiscus, which is very characteristic of the southern country.
