And the Nantong Museum is the brightest gem in my cultural journey. ⏰Opening Hours: 6:00 - 17:30 (Closed on Mondays). 📍Address: No. 19, Haonan Road, Chongchuan District. Free admission (but an additional 10 yuan ticket is required for Haonan Bieye). 🚇Metro Travel: Take Metro Line 1 to Youyi Bridge Station, exit from Exit 4, and walk 800 meters south along Huancheng East Road. 🚗🚕Parking Guide: There is a parking lot, 6 yuan/hour for the first 2 hours. The entire venue can be visited in about two hours. 🍿Preparation Checklist: Sunshade umbrella (since there are outdoor walking areas), sunshade hat, sunscreen spray, small fan, mosquito repellent (there are many flower mosquitoes in Haonan Bieye), children's masks, PlantSnap app (for identifying plants), camera, photo props. 📍Tour Sequence: Enter from the main entrance of the new pavilion. 🎈First Floor: - "Ancient Charm of Jianghai: Exhibition of Ancient Civilization in Nantong", displaying tools and artifacts used by ancient people, as if you can see the hardworking figures of our ancestors. - Peking Opera Exhibition, where you can learn about Peking Opera characters with your children and feel the charm of traditional culture. - Cultural and Creative Shop, where you can buy the museum's creative ice cream, and commemorative silver and gold coins are displayed in the vending machine, exquisitely crafted. 🎈The second floor mainly tells the life of Zhang Jian and the history of Nantong. I have to say, Zhang Jian's contributions to education and economic development are truly great, I never really understood it before. 📍The Natural Museum is in a building opposite. It has many marine animal specimens, and the whale skeleton is particularly amazing. There are also interactive games in the museum, which children love. Walking inside from the Ocean Pavilion, Zhang Chunhou Garden and other pavilions are fascinating. Different species of trees and plants are dazzling, with the South Pavilion (bird, beast, and insect specimens) and the Central Pavilion (meteorological observation) scattered throughout the park. 🎈Haonan Bieye is the former residence of Mr. Zhang Jian, mainly displaying his life experiences and great achievements. But the most attractive is the wisteria in front of the residence. The wisteria blooms in April, with a flowering period of about ten days, hanging down like a waterfall, incredibly beautiful. Many photo studios use this place as a location for wedding photos. The architecture of Nantong Museum blends the old and the new, with a rich cultural atmosphere, making it a great place for photos.
