#triptravelchina 🏡Wat Khao Rup Chang was built in 2244 at the same time as Wat Pho Prathap Chang during the reign of Phra Si Sanphet VIII or King Suea. The Samuha Nayok, who controlled the soldiers to build Wat Pho Prathap Chang according to his wishes, found that the mountain top looked like an elephant. ⛰The Samuha Nayok saw that it was a suitable place to build a temple and a place to stay on high ground to inspect the terrain and ensure the safety of the soldiers. When it was completed, it was named "Wat Khao Rup Chang" according to the white stones stacked together in the shape of a kneeling elephant on the mountaintop. Important and interesting things in the temple include: 🛕Sri Lankan-style pagoda located on the mountaintop with white stones stacked together looking like an elephant. It was built during the reign of King Rama III and later renovated. It was decorated with gold-plated tiles all over the body. There is a fence around the pagoda. On the mountaintop, you can see a 360-degree view of Phichit. 🛖The old four-sided pavilion is near the new church.
