Wat Samanakottharam, Ayutthaya Province 🙏It is assumed that it was built in the early Ayutthaya period and renovated in the late Ayutthaya period by Chao Phraya Kosa (Lek) and Chao Phraya Kosa (Pan). 🪷The Ubosot is an Ayutthaya period Ubosot made of brick and mortar with 4 side entrances. Inside the Ubosot is the principal Buddha image, "Phra Si Samanakotbophit", made of sandstone in the Mara-Vijaya posture, built since the early Ayutthaya period. Outside, there is a chedi in the middle and there are ancient ruins that are assumed to be the "Mahathat" in front by the road. 🌱This temple has a large prang with an unusual shape compared to others, believed to be a copy of the seven-spire pagoda in Chiang Mai. It is a prang built on the original pagoda with a porch extending to the east. There are 2 stairs leading up to the circumambulation area. It is assumed that this prang was built around the middle Ayutthaya period. In addition, there is a large bell-shaped pagoda located between the prang and the Ubosot.
