Xiangyan Temple was founded in the first year of Jin Mingchang (1190) and was renovated many times during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The main building consists of three stone-structured beamless halls, arranged from east to west, namely Ksitigarbha Hall, Sakyamuni Hall and Guanyin Hall. It covers an area of ​​about 3,600 square meters and has a history of 834 years. It has gone through vicissitudes of life, but it still shines brightly and is listed as a "Cultural Heritage Site of Shanxi Province". Xiangyan Temple is located on Xiangyan Mountain in Dongmayu Village, 5 kilometers west of Qingxu County, Shanxi Province. It is named Xiangyan Mountain because of the red peach blossoms, white plum blossoms, evergreen pines and cypresses, and mountain flowers everywhere, which is full of fragrance. After the temple was completed, it was named after the mountain, hence the name Xiangyan Temple. When you enter Xiangyan Temple, the first thing that catches your eye is a very high flight of stairs that you have to climb to reach the temple. Opposite the Xiangyan Temple archway, there is a driveway leading up the mountain on the left, which allows you to drive directly to the temple.
