Spanning approximately 2.4 square kilometers (600 acres), it is considered the largest botanical garden in Southeast Asia . History Established in 1980 by Pisit and Nongnooch Tansacha, the garden was initially intended as a fruit plantation. Inspired by international botanical gardens, Nongnooch transformed the land into a tropical garden. In 1983, management passed to their son, Kampon Tansacha, who expanded the garden’s features, including the French Garden inspired by the Gardens of Versailles . Botanical Collections Nong Nooch houses over 19,500 plant accessions representing more than 12,000 species, making it one of the world’s largest tropical plant collections .
