Since it is accessible by train from Munich, many people visit it as a day trip. After getting off the train, take a bus and travel a little further. From the bus, you can walk or take a carriage to the castle. I went up there myself and it was a shallow hill, so it was worth the climb. If you don't have any trouble moving, I think it would be better to walk up :) The castle is as beautiful as I thought. The surrounding scenery was as beautiful as the castle. I recommend staying for a while and looking around.
