Shanghai! Xujiahui! Lock in this budget hotel

Stay Experience - Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Xujiahui || Business is booming, and that's awesome. It's rare to stay in Xuhui, and considering convenience is the top priority, I chose this hotel next to the subway station. It turns out that's the only reason that could bring me here. Brief Reviews Location: Just a few minutes' walk from Xujiahui Station on Subway Line 1, you can reach the hotel. Opposite is the under-construction Xuhui Center, surrounded by shopping malls, making transportation and shopping very convenient. It's worth mentioning that the hotel itself and the surrounding old houses seem to be connected into a scenic spot, which is very characteristic of old Shanghai. Check-in and Check-out: No queue at the front desk, check-in was quick, and for check-out, just returning the room card was enough. Member Benefits: As a Titanium Elite member, I booked a basic room and was upgraded to an executive king room, with welcome fruit provided. Facilities and Services: The room had a strong musty smell, which took an hour or two to get used to. The facilities were old, and the small windows gave a first impression of being confined. Fortunately, the bright lighting made the room not feel oppressive, and the soundproofing was also decent. In fact, it was okay for a night's sleep, overall pretty standard. Dining: I missed the afternoon tea time and went to the lounge on time when happy hour started. To my surprise, the lounge waiter saw me as if facing a great enemy. After saying 'no seats' and then freezing me out for twenty seconds, I was stunned. How could he just say 'no seats' and then not speak or move at all? I've encountered full lounges before, and the waiters would at least take guests inside to have a look, but this guy, after seeing me not leaving for a while, finally changed his expression from wanting me to leave to a slightly polite fake smile. Only then did I come to my senses and asked if they could call my room if a seat became available. The waiter said he would call me if there was a spot, but I had a feeling he was brushing me off. So, I immediately ordered takeout, and sure enough, no one called me until the end of happy hour at 7:30 pm. I don't know if they only have executive rooms or if they didn't have enough food, but at this point, I just pretended the lounge didn't exist. As for breakfast, they seem to follow the standard template of Shanghai hotels, with no special dishes, so I just picked some pastries, which tasted quite good. Cleanliness: No issues. Extra Charges: None this time. Value for Money: The location is worth 500, service 0, plus brand premium 100 equals 600 yuan. It's not worth it if it's higher than this price. Maybe after the Xuhui Center is fully completed, the hotel could raise the price by fifty yuan due to its location.
