Just at the junction of the Huangpu River and the Suzhou River, the Waibaidu Bridge is right next door. From the hotel, it’s a few minutes’ walk to the Outer Banks and you can see superb night views of the Pearl of the Orient and Lujiazui. There are many attractions in the surrounding area, such as Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and Yuyuan Garden are not far away. Surprise of check-in🎁 As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I was shocked by the luxury of the lobby. There is a "light chasing" art installation in the lobby, which has a particularly sense of design. At check-in, the staff was particularly enthusiastic and prepared hot tea and towels. I stayed in the Outer Bund View Deluxe Room, which was 48 square meters in size. As soon as I entered the door, I was drawn to the unbeatable river view outside the window, with the Illustrade complex of the Outer Banks in sight. The dining experience is great 🍽 The hotel’s restaurant was a highlight. The breakfast at the Embroidery Restaurant is particularly rich, in a semi-buffet format, with random surprises from the chef. The Cantonese cuisine at the Chinese restaurant Jin Ling is also very good. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the Huangpu River while sitting in the restaurant. Other little details💡 The hotel's turndown service was particularly courteous. When I came back at night, I found that the room was neatly kept and a small gift. The minibar in the room is free and refilled daily. The hotel’s pool is also great, it’s an infinity pool where you can enjoy the river view while swimming. Tips📝 If you have the opportunity to come to Shanghai, I really highly recommend staying at the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai. Prices may be more affordable when booking in advance. And the hotel’s event venue is great for weddings or business events. In short, this stay was a great experience and will come back next time!
