The shocking feeling is really indescribable! The Bund at night seems like a prosperous scene from an old movie, or like stepping into a neon-lit fantasy world. It is definitely worth your personal experience. Here are some of my travel experiences, I hope they can help you! 1. Best viewing time The Bund lights are usually turned on around 6pm. It is recommended to arrive at 5-6pm so that you can see the Bund during the day and witness the moment when the lights come on at night, and experience two completely different beauties. It is suitable for viewing until 10-11pm, but if it is too late, some lights may be turned off and the photo effect will be affected. 2. Best viewing location • The Bund Sightseeing Platform: Right on the Bund River, the view is superb. You can see the skyscrapers of Lujiazui in Pudong and the Bund's International Architecture Expo without any obstruction. Standing here and looking at the whole picture of the Bund, there is a sense of beauty of time and space interweaving. • Zhapu Road Bridge: A favorite of many photography enthusiasts, here you can take beautiful pictures of Suzhou River and the “Four-piece Set” of Lujiazui (Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jinmao Tower) in the same frame, especially at the blue hour, which is breathtakingly beautiful! 3. Recommended Tour Routes In the afternoon, go to the Bund to stroll along the historic streets and admire the old buildings. Then head south along the Bund Observation Deck to admire the buildings of various international styles. At night, walk to Zhapu Road Bridge and take beautiful photos. If you want to experience something different, you can take a ride in the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel and feel the changing lights on both sides of the Huangpu River in the tunnel. 4. Food Recommendations • Pan-fried buns: crispy skin, juicy meat filling, and the soup overflows with one bite, super satisfying. • Xiaolongbao: thin skin and large fillings, full of delicious soup, paired with shredded ginger and vinegar, the taste is amazing. • Pork ribs and rice cake: a traditional Shanghai snack, the ribs are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the rice cake is soft and chewy, and the sauce is rich. There are many food stalls and restaurants near Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street and the Bund Source where you can taste these delicacies. It is very pleasant to eat and walk around. 5. Tips • There will be a lot of people on weekends and holidays, so please take care of your belongings, especially when taking photos, so as not to lose your phone or camera. • If you want to take photos, remember to find a good angle in advance, otherwise it will be difficult to take satisfactory photos when there are too many people. • When the weather is bad, the night view may be greatly reduced, so try to go on a clear night.
