The iconic Tiffany stained glass dome casts a warm glow, complemented by Italian marble floors, antique bronze carved chandeliers, and geometric decorations in the Octagonal Hall. Every snapshot looks like a vintage masterpiece. Be sure to join the hotel’s free historical tour to hear stories from its opening in 1929 to today. Guests have included Sun Yat-sen, Charlie Chaplin, and Einstein—every brick and stone tells a story. 🛏️We stayed in the Fairmont Gold River View Room, and opening the window revealed a panoramic view of Lujiazui—absolutely spectacular! Visiting on weekdays during the off-season offers better value, and the river view rooms have the best views. 2.
