Travelogue of the Datian Craftsman Cultural Village

The Datian Craftsman Cultural Village is centered around a Hakka enclosed house with a history of over two hundred years—the Datian Ancestral Residence. It is complemented by a cultural district that includes dining, homestay, and cultural and creative elements. The Datian Ancestral Residence was built in the fifth year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty, facing south with its back to the north. The architecture is divided into three sections, accessible through two side doors on the east and west. Large red lanterns hang on both sides of the door, and the main entrance bears the inscription 'Datian Ancestral Residence.' Beyond the main entrance is an archway, with the ancestral hall located at the center. There were originally towers at each corner of the outer walls, but now only two remain. Directly in front of the main entrance is a large crescent-shaped pond, and behind the courtyard, lush greenery is planted, making it a feng shui treasure. With the Datian Ancestral Residence as its core, the surrounding distinctive dining, accommodation, and cultural venues are scattered like stars across the sky, forming a leisurely cultural village experience. As the lights come on at dusk, the entire Datian Craftsman Cultural Village is brilliantly illuminated, with the Datian Ancestral Residence looking particularly beautiful, as if one has traveled back to ancient times, evoking a dreamlike sensation.
