Wat Ban Tham Thailand 🇹🇭
#traveldiaries
Wat Ban Tham, a prayer-filled mountain temple in Kanchanaburi, after passing through a dragon's mouth🐲 If you look at it from the air, it is a beautiful ancient temple that looks like a big dragon coming down from the mountain. Wat Ban Tham temple, built on the mountain and worshiped, is located in Khao Noi Sub district of Kanchanaburi.
After going through more than 200 stairs, you will be able to visit the cave at the top of the mountain, and the stairs must go from the mouth of the dragon to the end of the body.
Kanchanaburi is considered to be a beautiful and special temple with a cave temple, and the view from the top of the mountain is the most beautiful.

Kanchanaburi Foodie Trail from AM ☀️to PM🌙
Kanchanaburi, a town known for its history and natural beauty, also offers a vibrant and unique food scene that reflects both local traditions and contemporary culinary trends.
One of the standout spots is Meena Cafe, a picturesque cafe that is not just about the food but also the view. Located near Wat Tham Suea, the cafe boasts stunning views of lush rice fields and the mountains beyond. Visitors can enjoy Thai fusion dishes and refreshing drinks while soaking in the peaceful ambiance. It’s particularly popular for its rustic, Instagrammable setting.
Not far from town is the Giant Monkey Pod Tree, a magnificent tree that has become a symbol of the area. Surrounding this natural wonder, you’ll find small food stalls selling local snacks and drinks, providing a perfect spot to relax under the tree’s shade after a walk or bike ride. It’s a peaceful place to enjoy a light meal while appreciating the natural beauty of the region.
For a taste of Northern Thai cuisine, Kin Khao Lam is a beloved restaurant that brings flavors from the northern region to Kanchanaburi. One of its signature dishes is khao soi, a rich and flavorful curry noodle soup made with egg noodles, tender chicken or beef, and a creamy coconut broth. Served with pickled mustard greens, shallots, lime, and crispy noodles on top, khao soi is a comforting dish full of layers of taste and texture. Another unique experience at Kin Khao Lam is the khantoke, a traditional northern Thai meal served on a low, round table. Diners can enjoy a variety of northern specialties, such as sai ua (northern sausage), nam prik ong (tomato chili dip), and sticky rice, all presented in an elegant, communal setting.
In the bustling area near Kanchanaburi’s night market, Zab Zab is a popular restaurant specializing in Isaan food, the bold and spicy cuisine from northeastern Thailand. Dishes like som tum (papaya salad), larb (spicy minced meat salad), and grilled meats are staples here, prepared with the characteristic tangy, spicy, and savory flavors that define Isaan cuisine. The name Zab Zab itself comes from the Isaan dialect, where “zab” (or “zaap”) means “tasty” or “delicious.” Repeating the word as “Zab Zab” emphasizes just how flavorful and satisfying the food is—essentially meaning “super tasty”.
Finally, for early risers, Kanchanaburi’s morning market offers a chance to dive into the local breakfast culture. A popular dish here is the traditional Thai porridge, or jok, a warm, savory rice porridge often served with minced pork, soft-boiled eggs, and garnished with ginger, green onions, and a dash of soy sauce.

Tiger Cave Temple | Kanchanaburi.
Tiger Cave Temple was established in 1971 by Phra Khru Sithiwimol. Inside the temple, there is a large Buddha statue in the blessing posture situated on a hill, along with a beautifully decorated Thai-style octagonal ordination hall and the 69-meter high, 29-meter wide Kesa Kaew Maha Prasat pagoda. From the hill, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the lake and Vajiralongkorn Dam. 📍Meena Café, Kanchanaburi, Thailand
Visited this café after visiting the Tiger Cave temple and it is such a great idea! The café is huge, offering a stunning view of Tiger Cave Temple as the backdrop and surrounded by paddy field! The café offers multiple seating areas, with both outdoor and indoor seatings available. We chose to be seated at indoor seatings with air conditioner as it was really hot and humid during lunch time! The food was served pretty quickly and came with nice presentation. We ordered their omelette rice and pad Thai which was equally delicious! Great place to visit for instagrammable photos and is indeed a decent meal with amazing views! Would recommend for visitors visiting Kanchanaburi!
