Tokyo suburbs travel Ibaraki - Ushiku Daibutsu

The total height is 120m The statue is 100m and the pedestal that supports the statue is 20m. It is the sixth largest statue in the world in terms of height and holds the title of the world's largest Buddha statue made of bronze. It is actually really big even from far away!! You can visit by JR, but I went by car. The parking lot is free. After passing the free parking lot, there are several souvenir shops and vending machines. Tickets were 500 yen for the park and 300 yen for the observatory for adults. We arrived an hour before closing time, so we gave up on the observatory, but the park itself was so pretty and magnificent. Although it is TMI, Ibaraki students have been visiting this Ushiku Daibutsu often since elementary school for field trips. My friend who went with me said that this was his sixth visit because he went there so often at school..(sorry..) His family also visited a lot, so I think it is a really good place for an outing!
