Gentle Soul Healing in Vung Tau - 2N1D

Review of a 2-day-1-night trip to Vung Tau – Chill and “eat up” the coastal city Last weekend, my friend and I had a light “escape” to Vung Tau by motorbike. It took about 3 and a half hours from Saigon, the road was quite easy, just Google Maps was fine. Arriving in the afternoon, we checked in the hotel and went straight to Bai Truoc to swim. The waves were not too strong, the water was quite clean, after swimming, it felt like all the stress of the week was washed away. In the evening, we started the food tour. The first destination was Co Bay’s banh can – okay, but for me, not too special. Next was Oc Binh, the “delicious” type, especially the salt and pepper crab – rich, spicy, and super addictive. After eating, we went to 36 Quang Trung to eat avocado ice cream, eating while watching the night sea. The avocado ice cream was rich, the toppings were good but the price was a bit high (the menu is all from 60k and up). At night, we bought a few cans of beer, went to the flagpole area of Bai Truoc to chill, watch the waves, and the wind - a very unique vibe of Vung Tau at night. On the 2nd day, we "rose" at 8am :)) We didn't go to the beach until 9am, the sun was shining brightly but there were still many people swimming. After bathing, we went back to the hotel to shower, check out and have lunch at Loc Duong Quan (alley 125). The food was a bit expensive but the seafood fried rice was delicious and worth the money. In the afternoon, we visited the Vung Tau museum - the ticket price was only 20k/person but there was a lot of useful information about local history and culture. Initially, we planned to go to the statue of Christ but it was under renovation, probably won't reopen until the end of May. Before going back, we stopped by May Nhop Nhop for two cups of sugar-filled milk tea, and planned to stop by Golden Bakery to buy salted egg sponge cake as a gift, but it was too crowded, the line was as long as going to a concert - we had to sadly turn around. The total cost for the whole trip is only about 2.5 million VND/2 people - a light, fun, and "healing" trip. Highly recommend for anyone who needs to reset their mood on the weekend! #vungtau #vungtaufood #baotang
