In the Jiangnan area

In the Jiangnan area, there are many temples due to historical reasons. Especially during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there were poems in the "four hundred and eighty temples of the Southern Dynasties, how many buildings were in the rain." In the Southern Dynasties, many temples were built in the Jiangnan area, and there is such a place in Wuxi, Jiangsu. The Nanchan Temple in the center of Wuxi is one of the 480 temples in the Southern Dynasties. It was built in the early years of the Southern Dynasties of Emperor Liangwu (AD 547) and has a long history of nearly 1500 years. This temple was originally called Huguo Temple. It ranks second in Wuxi Temple, second only to Huishan Temple. It is a well-known ancient temple in Jiangnan. Nanchan Temple has become a landmark in Wuxi. Now it has built a commercial street in Nanchan Temple. Both locals and foreigners like to come here to visit, but now the size of Nanchan Temple is much smaller. If you visit, you can walk around in 20 minutes. The temple maintains the architectural style of the Jiangnan area during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. A towering tower in the temple is the symbol of Nanchan Temple. The Miaoguang Tower is 43.3 meters high and was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. It has been more than a thousand years old. Nanchan Temple was rebuilt in the Northern Song Dynasty Tiansheng, and Song Renzong gave the name "Fusheng Temple". Eight years later, Song Renzong gave the name "Shousheng Temple" to the North Zen Temple corresponding to Nanchan Temple. It is a very glorious thing for the same emperor to give names to the two temples in Xicheng. Nanchan Temple is located in the city center and is easily accessible by subway.
