Xingping in Yangshuo is a place that can purify people's emotions

Taking the high-speed train to Yangshuo in the morning and returning to Guangzhou in the evening, making a round trip on the same day without staying overnight, I have been pondering whether this is feasible. This time it finally came true, and the answer is yes. There is a train from Guangzhou to Yangshuo at 8:15 in the morning, arriving at 10:23, and a train from Yangshuo back to Guangzhou at 18:29, arriving at 21:03. The round trip takes about four and a half hours. The Yangshuo station is about a 10-minute drive from Xingping Ancient Town, which doesn't cause any delay. In Xingping Ancient Town, you can stay for more than 7 hours, which is very leisurely in terms of time. However, taking the bus from Yangshuo station to Yangshuo county town takes about 50 minutes. If you want to return on the same day, you need to leave much earlier to make it in time. This rush to and fro means very little time spent locally, with most of the time wasted on the road, which doesn't feel worthwhile. The same goes for going to Guilin city. Guilin North Station is also not close to the city center. If you want to make a round trip on the same day, the time is very tight. Such a trip doesn't make much sense. Therefore, the ideal place in this region where you can make a round trip on the same day and still have a fulfilling visit is Xingping Ancient Town. It's still a bit cold in Xingping at the beginning of March, but fortunately, I dressed warmly enough. Looking past the eaves of the ancient town, you can see the towering Laozhai Mountain, with its pavilion still standing there. Because of the steep mountain and the perilous path, this mountain has now been designated as a non-tourist area, and not many tourists have ever made it to that pavilion. I am one of them. After the Spring Festival, the number of tourists in the town decreases. Around noon, I decided to solve the problem of hunger first. The restaurant was empty except for the owner and the staff, and I was the only one dining. After eating, I rented an electric scooter for 30 yuan and rode along the Li River. I feel that the scenery along the way is no less than that of Yangshuo county's Ten-Mile Gallery. The ride ends at Nine Horses Painted Mountain, where there is a pier to take a ferry to the opposite bank. There is a footpath by the river, and if you have time, you can get close to the Li River. The river water is very clear, and you can even see the bottom without any effort. Cruise ships from Guilin to Yangshuo county pass by one after another in front of my eyes. At this moment, the mountains and water beside me, even every leaf, belong to me. To own all this is so easy. Being in such a landscape, I feel very satisfied. Continuing forward, there appears a large pebble-covered river beach. There is a car parked there, and someone is fishing by the water. I don't know how that car got there. I also wanted to bring fishing gear, but I was worried about not passing the high-speed train security check, so I gave up. Bamboo rafts carrying tourists come from a distance, passing in front of us, and the tourists on board excitedly wave at us. Because the ground here is all stones, walking is uneven and feels quite strenuous. The mountain on the opposite side is massive and rugged, making the beautiful Li River in front of it appear especially delicate. Do these round stones on the ground have different patterns because of the long-term erosion by the river water? When the water rises, these stones should be submerged by the river water. Now it's the dry season, so they are exposed. Guilin is a place known for its strange stones; could there be surprising treasures among these stones on the ground? I don't know if I can walk back to the town along the Li River from here. Later, at the pier ahead, I saw tourists coming from this side and continuing forward. If possible, I would like to try it next time. Walking along this section of the Li River must feel even more exhilarating than riding an electric scooter. You can take a ferry from the town's Li River side to the opposite Jiangxin Island. I've been to Xingping many times, but this is my first time doing this. I've always been curious about the houses hidden among the trees on the opposite bank, seen from across the river. The project on the island is a round-the-island tour. People drive multi-person electric cars to solicit customers. Our service provider is a villager who lives on the island and looks very young. He said he has stayed in Guangzhou. He not only takes tourists around for sightseeing but also likes to do live streaming online. With such beautiful scenery and attractiveness, as a local broadcaster, I think he definitely has an advantage. After a round on the island, I got off the car and visited two representative attractions, spending a total of 50 yuan, including the return ferry ticket. Although the time was short, the experience was still quite good. It's getting late, so I sat down to rest my feet in front of a guesthouse at the foot of Laozhai Mountain. The place is relatively high, with a broad view, where you can see the surface of the Li River and the peculiar peaks on both banks. I have been to this place many times, and I feel uncomfortable if I don't come for a while because the landscape here can purify people's emotions. Xingping Ancient Town For the 6:29 high-speed train, I arrived at the bus station an hour early to buy a ticket to the high-speed train station. The ticket seller said the bus would leave at 6 o'clock, which I thought was very rushed, so I went to the street and called a motorcycle. It cost 30 yuan to get to the high-speed train station, which I had to accept. I really like Guilin, Yangshuo, and Xingping. I will come back again. I feel this is where I belong.
