It is recommended to fly to Lijiang, as Kunming's attractions are average except for the seagulls, and you'll spend more time and money in Lijiang and Dali. 4: Make sure to inquire about accommodations in advance. If you're only carrying a backpack and don't have much luggage, you can stay wherever you want. If you have a lot of luggage or need to store it, it's recommended to stay near the entrance of the ancient town for convenience in taking transportation, dining, and exploring the ancient town, and to avoid damaging your suitcase. 5: It's not recommended to visit the ancient town during the day; the ancient town is not only lively at night but also has beautiful night scenes. The bustling place in Lijiang ancient town at night is Sifang Street, and those who want to listen to folk songs can go to May 1st Street. In Dali ancient town, go to Renmin Road at night, where there are many places to eat and drink, and folk song bars line the streets. 6: Try not to book round-trip flights to the same place, as it will involve a lot of back-and-forth travel and waste time. If you're mainly touring Lijiang and Dali, you can arrive in Lijiang and depart from Dali. 7: If you have 8 days, it is recommended to spend 1 day in Dali, 1 day in Lijiang, 2 days in Lugu Lake, and 2 days in Shangri-La. If time is limited, you can skip Lugu Lake. 8: If you only have one day for Lugu Lake, don't go, because it takes 4 hours by bus from Lijiang city to Lugu Lake, which is 8 hours round trip. A one-day trip is very rushed, and you won't see much of the sights. 9: Xishuangbanna is not in the same direction as Lijiang and Dali, and it's quite far away. If you're short on time, you can save it for next time. 10: The attractions around Dali's Erhai Lake are all along the lake. Don't rent electric scooters to go around Erhai Lake, as you can't enter from the west. You can only stop outside Longkan Wharf, Xizhou Ancient Town, and the S-bend, but you can ride a bicycle in. If you get up early, you can also go to Caicun Wharf and Longkan Wharf to watch the sunrise.
