Furong Town at Tianmen Mountain

Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain | No need to follow a tour group! Take the strategy guide directly! ◽️ In the off-season, you can buy tickets one day in advance or on the same day, but in the peak season, you must buy in advance. When purchasing tickets, you will be asked to choose the entry time and route, with three routes A, B, and C. Route A is the most ideal, buy Route A if possible. ◽️ During times of high visitor traffic, you can only enter the scenic area at the time selected when purchasing tickets (off-season is casual, no one cares). 🌳 Tianmen Mountain ◽️ For Route A, enter the scenic area by scanning your ID card at the cableway entrance, queue up to take the cable car up the mountain, each cable car seats 8 people, and it takes 30 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. ◽️ After getting off the cable car, there are two routes to choose from, the East Line and the West Line. Both routes offer similar scenery. If you're short on time or energy, you can just take the West Line (which has slightly better scenery than the East Line). Both the East and West Lines have glass walkways. ◽️ Follow this order for the West Line: Li Na Villa -> Lingshan Platform -> Glass Walkway (additional charge, 5 yuan including shoe covers. Do not buy shoe covers at the foot of the mountain, it's a pure waste of money) -> Ghost Valley Plank Road -> Cableway Bridge -> Tianmen Mountain Temple. If you're not sure how to go, you can check Baidu Maps, each point is marked on the map, just use walking navigation. ◽️ Tianmen Mountain Temple is the intersection of the East and West Lines. If you want to continue on the East Line, just follow the 'East Line' signs. The endpoint is the mountain escalator (about 1.5-2km, you can navigate to 'mountain escalator' by walking, just follow the map). If you don't want to walk, you can buy a ticket for the chairlift to go down the mountain escalator. ◽️ Upon reaching the entrance of the mountain escalator, take it down to the entrance of Tianmen Cave (you have to stand on the mountain escalator for quite a while, it's a bit tiring 🥲). ◽️ At the entrance of Tianmen Cave, you can choose to walk down the 999 steps to the photo checkpoint at Tianmen Cave, or continue on the mountain escalator. The 999 steps may be closed due to weather conditions, in which case, you can only take the mountain escalator. ◽️ Once you reach the photo checkpoint at Tianmen Cave, start the photo mode, and that's it! There are many photo spots to avoid the crowds, you can search for notes. ◽️ Take the express cableway down the mountain (when I went, the express cableway was under maintenance, so I took the bus down the mountain road, the experience was great hhh) 🏠 For accommodation, it's recommended to stay near the Tianmen Mountain cableway (there are super many hotels/homestays). After having breakfast in the morning, you can walk to the cableway entrance, which is very convenient.
