A wonderful countryside surrounding this beautiful small town with friendly people. Will definitely need cash to get along with local amenities. The journey it’s about 90 minutes drive from Yerevan, depending on traffic as there is isn’t any actual motorway. Dilijan is a famous spa town in Armenia, known as the 'Little Switzerland of Armenia' by the locals, attracting many artists to settle here. The Armenian government plans to develop Dilijan into a regional financial center, and some departments of the Central Bank have already moved here in 2013. According to an ancient folk tale, the name of Dilijan is related to a shepherd named Emperor Li.

One of the best towns to run away from big city’s hassle and bustle and to enjoy the fresh air and picturesque nature. Dilijan’s water is well known as very tasty drinkable water. You can take a day trip and just enjoy your day having a picnic in the forest or if you have time you can book a hotel and stay there for several days. Make sure to book a hotel in advance during peak season otherwise you may leave only with super expensive offers or don’t find anything at all.
