Mihara Station on the Sanyo Shinkansen is the site of the main citadel of Mihara Castle. There is a stone wall under the station overpass. The large storehouse is well preserved in a very impressive tatami room. It's also great that the attendant will give you a brief history explanation when you enter. A national important cultural property built to pray for the safe navigation of ships traveling through the Seto Inland Sea✨ "Abuto Kannon" is famous for praying for safe childbirth and fertility (child-granting). Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture Blow away all your worries [Ushiroyama Park East Observatory] Location: 252-89 Notohara, Numakuma-cho, Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture We were blessed with fine weather, so we sped off to Ushiroyama Park. It's located at a moderate climb up the mountain. There were a lot of people touring there. We parked our car in the large parking lot, and after climbing a few stairs, we reached the observation deck. The view from the observation deck was spectacular! You can see the Seto Inland Sea. You'll forget about time. Nature is the best after all. It was refreshing. Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture Hamburger made with domestic meat and no additives [Imo Batake] Address: 4177-1 Mizunomi-cho, Fukuyama City The shop is located on the corner of a residential area and is smaller than I expected. I ordered the most popular BLT cheeseburger set. The meat juice was so thick that it would spill if I didn't eat it while sucking it. You can choose from stick potatoes, crescent potatoes, and potato chips. The mango juice was rich and delicious. The weather was nice and pleasant that day, so we decided to eat in a nearby park. I also wanted to eat a croissant. It was just freshly baked. As they said, "Our croissants are packed with filling," the croissants here seemed "heavy." During a business trip to Hiroshima, I went to an amusement park near my hotel on Sunday. I got a free admission ticket from the hotel. Miroku-no-Sato is an amusement park with attractions, a facility called "Dinosaur Park" that is like a dinosaur version of a haunted house, and even a facility called "The Road We Came From Somewhere," which is like a retro Showa-era movie set. I stayed here when I went on a business trip to Hiroshima Prefecture. Tokushima is a shipbuilding town. It's near the ferry terminal. Nearby there is an amusement park called "Miroku-no-Sato" and a bathing facility called "Shinshoji Onsen Showa-no-Yu". However, although there is a convenience store, you can't go to restaurants without a car. (There is a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel) I had no particular inconveniences staying there, but I wonder if the parking lot is on the shipbuilding facility's premises? This is Fukuyama Castle, towering in front of Fukuyama Station. This year marks the 400th anniversary of the castle's construction, and it has been renovated and completed. When I stopped by in October, I was impressed by its beautiful appearance, which I couldn't help but visit. As you would expect from the city of roses, roses 🌹 were blooming around Fukuyama Castle. Backstreet Lemonade Stand Shijohan This cute shop is a 5-minute walk from Fukuyama Station. It's really in a back alley, so it's a bit fun to explore until you reach the shop. It's small, but overflowing with cuteness. It's cute down to the smallest detail. When I asked for a recommendation, the lovely smiling staff member told me that the NY Black Lemonade is strong and good. You can choose from S, M, L, and LL sizes. I ordered the M size for 600 yen. This shop opened in June 2020. The carefully made NY Black Lemonade had a strong carbonation and an adult taste. This shop opened on March 18th this year. KIMITOWHIP. This is the first genuine premium Taiwanese castella specialty store to arrive in Hiroshima from Omotesando, Tokyo. They have three flavors: plain, Uji matcha, and coffee. You can choose between a whole or half cake. They also have off-cuts. It's very simple and easy to choose. It feels sophisticated. I ordered the classic plain cake in a whole cake. "We use domestic eggs, which are sweet and rich, produced by contracted farmers who are particular about the feed and how they are raised. We mix the smooth whipped cream into the dough without breaking it, and bake it to a fluffy and fizzy texture." I see, that's why it's "fluffy and fizzy." It is a modern castle built by Katsunari Mizuno, who transferred from Yamatokoriyama as a lord of 100,000 koku of Bingo due to the deprivation of Masanori Fukushima, the lord of Aki and Bingo in 1619. At first, Katsunari was in Kannabe Castle, but he inspected the territory, selected Jokojiyama in Nogami Village as the castle site, and started construction of the castle. It had been renovated, and the room was very clean. The parking lot is underground, and the incline to get in and out is steep, so it may be difficult for low-riding cars. (But a Porsche Boxster was parked there.) It's like a compact, calm version of Onomichi. Personally, I was able to sightsee at a slower pace than Onomichi, and it was fun walking through the historic streets. As it was once home to Yoshiaki Ashikaga and aristocrats of the Muromachi Shogunate, you can enjoy quaint buildings and beautiful scenery. In recent years, Hayao Miyazaki also stayed here. As you walk through the town, locals also talk to you, and you feel like there is no barrier between tourists and residents. ⚫︎Recommendation 1 Old-style house cafe that connects people ☕️ We visited the old-style house cafe Arisorou. The building, arranged by Motoyutei, feels like the flow of time is slow. It also functions as a library and serves as a place where local people can gather. The lemon cake and cream soda we ordered were also delicious. #0yentrip From Tomonoura, which once flourished as a wind-hungry port on the Seto Inland Sea, we took a boat to Sensuijima. It took about 5 minutes to get there. It was a short boat trip, but the sea breeze was pleasant, and the green scenery that appeared as we approached the island was exciting. After disembarking and walking a little, we found a quiet beach and a promenade, a place where we could relax in nature. We didn't have much time to go around the island, but just relaxing in the sea breeze was enough to heal us. Next time we come, we'd like to walk deeper into the island.
