A Paradise within Paradise
Going to and from different tourist attractions can be tiring as it requires transportation that could mean you are on the road for hours. This is when the choice of accommodation comes in to play. Are you staying at a place where you feel relaxed no matter how tiring the adventures were? During my time in the paradise that is Siargao Islands in the Philippines, I found a great resort that was a paradise in itself, Siargao Bleu Resort and Spa. The experience was just remarkable! The room, lounges by the pool, and dining area were all so comfortable and played a part in giving me that vibe that just makes someone appreciate the wonders of life. #siargao #resort #vacation
Siargao is the place to be.
If you like activities on the beach, Siargao is for you. You can enjoy surfing, wake boarding, jump here and there.😂 Better rent a bike the moment you get off the boat. Always try to get a discount for the rent.😂 At night, it's a party everywhere. They have places for acoustic songs, alternative and party. Live bands everywhere.

Harana Surf Resort!
Harana resort a very wonderful place to stay at, and excellent location for tourists who are interested in surfing. They respond immediately thru email, contact numbers and social media. I love the interior of the place, it's cozy and has natural lighting from the room. If you're a nature lover, you'll definitely love the place.
The location is perfect for surfers enthusiast and there's no private pool available in this place. The place have a coffee place, resto and an outside bar. There's really not much food to choose from the mune, but their food is quite good, as well as their juices, shakes and cocktails. Overall, I definitely will recommend this place to my friends, and will definitely go back here again. ❤️

Kermit is an Italian restaurant famous for its homemade pasta, make-your-own pizza, and buy 1 take 1 cocktails. Locals even claim it serves the “best pizza in town”. Don’t forget to check out their daily specials! Foods that I can recommend are Pan-Seared Tuna, Kermit Pizza, Chocolate Lava Cake and Mango Daquiri. You will surely love all of it!
Not to mention they also offer form Filipino dishes, fresh seafood, Original Italian Pasta to a brick pizza oven imported from Italy!!! Restaurant open to guests and walk in.

Cloud 9, one of the surfing spots in Siargao, is the reason why this laidback island came into the radar of international travelers. For non-surfers, Siargao can also be a good destination for a much-needed island getaway.
There are white sand beaches, picturesque islands, blue-green waters perfect for snorkeling and diving, waterfalls, lagoons, and caves.
The island also boasts delicious local and international cuisine for every discerning palate. Travelers usually stay in General Luna for the surf spots, but Del Carmen is also getting more popular because of the Sugba Lagoon.

Siargao Island
We had an amazing time on tour which took us to three separate islands. There was plenty of time off the boat to explore the islands and take a dip. Lunch and drinks were included in the tour which included a large selection of dishes which we had on the beach. It was such a perfect time to relax and hang out with the tour guides who provided us with lots of local knowledge and candid tips and perspectives on island life. We stayed at our friend's place and we really had a super chilled and easy tour in the island, thanks for the awesome time!

places to eat in Siargao
my favorite place: Harana Resort & Restaurant
To all the restaurants I’ve tried in Siargao, Harana is the best one yet. It’s a good place to chill because of the relaxing ambiance and the people dining here too. The food is ranging from P250.00 (USD5.00) and above. The price is reasonable since the food justifies it.
Address: 2 Tuason Point, Brgy. Catangnan,, General Luna, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte
Landmark: beside Villa Solaria
Recommended food: Chicken Joy or Sinigang!
Second would be Kermit Restaurant
This is also a good place to chill. However the food is a bit pricey and in my opinion, the food is just like any regular dish. I didn’t taste any special about it but maybe because I was just unlucky enough to pick the wrong night to be there. But all in all, I give it an 8! Price ranges from P300 – P500 (USD10.00) per person.
Address: Purok 5, General Luna, Siargao Island Philippines PH, General Luna, 8417
Recommended food: Kermit Pizza

Island hopping Siargao
There are three main islands close to Siargao that are the traditional destination for island- hopping day trips: Guyamn, Daku and the Naked Island.
There are so many awesome things to do on Siargao Island but one of the most popular activities is to get off the island and go island hopping from Siargao. There are three beautiful islands only a short long-tail boat trip away from General Luna, which is the tourist part of Siargao. Guyam Island, Daku Island, and Naked Island are the three stops along the tour, which includes pick-up, drop-off, and a seafood lunch.

Siargao's Boodle fight
There are so many awesome things to do on Siargao Island but one of the most popular activities is to get off the island and go island hopping from Siargao. There are three beautiful islands only a short long-tail boat trip away from General Luna, which is the tourist part of Siargao. Guyam Island, Daku Island, and Naked Island are the three stops along the tour, which includes pick-up, drop-off, and a seafood lunch.
The alternative is to book an entire boat from a local at the wharf, which ranges from 1,500 to 2,000 pesos, which is about $30-40. You can then pile in 5-10 guests depending on the size of the boat. This will not include lunch and may not include entry fees. That depends on how you organize it with the boatman. You can buy fresh fish and seafood from the dock in the morning, take it to Daku and have the local shop barbecue it for you. Or you can just buy a local lunch for $1-2 before you leave. Ask any of the guesthouses you may be staying at if they know a boatman. You won’t need to ask more than two people before you find a guy.

Siargao, the palm paradise
In the south of the Philippines is an island entirely covered with palm trees. It boasts the best waves in the country and attracts surfers from all over the world. While the island is known as a surfing hotspot there are so many awesome things to do in Siargao that don’t involve the waves. Despite it’s growing popularity over the last few years, it is still quite a cheap place to explore as is most of the Philippines. This Siargao itinerary will help you plan your time and also give you an idea about the expenses and budget you might expect to need for your time in Siargao.
The beauty of Siargao is that there is no right or wrong way to enjoy the island. Many people come and just surf all day every day and party every night. Others, like myself, only surf a couple of times but instead choose to explore the island, the beaches and the other islands nearby. I think the only thing I will say is a necessity for Siargao is to stay for more than a couple of nights. Too many travelers come for two nights and rush it all.

Siargao Island Hopping
Island hopping
Sohoton Cove is part of Bucas Grande Islands, an intricate network of stunning karst hills and islands that nestle breathtaking lagoons, beaches and even caves. The crystal clear water of some lagoons carry stingless jellyfish, something tourists can swim and interact with if their timing is right. Jellyfish season begins in March but reaches its peak in July and August.
Located in Socorro in Surigao del Norte, Sohoton Cove is a bit detached from Siargao but still easily accessible if you have the time or money. Boat tours from Siargao cost P3000, but some boatmen and operators merge it with the 3 Islands Tour to create the ultimate island hopping adventure. This Sohoton Cove + 3 Islands combination tour usually costs P4000. If you want to save a lot, find other travelers to split the cost with.
Surfing!
Surfing is Siargao’s biggest draw, hands down (and on opposite rails, as the surfing instructor tells us). The island’s picture-perfect waves, the famous “Cloud 9” swell, entice surfers from all corners of the globe. These waves occur along the General Luna coast: the best places to catch them will be the Cloud 9 and Quicksilver surfing camps..

Siargao the Philippines' Bali
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SIARGAO
Is Siargao safe?
Siargao is very safe. NOT all of Mindanao has security issues. Siargao is very far from the places you see on TV. In fact, in Siargao, many domestic and foreign tourists have stayed long enough to start living like the locals. It’s not unusual to see white guys in dreadlocks speaking Surigaonon.
However, you should also be careful when swimming in the open, as Siargao has a seasonal jellyfish population. Always ask around before taking a dip.
Don’t sweat safety. Wear life vests when on the boat. Don’t leave gadgets plugged in when going out. Wear aqua shoes on beaches and rocky shores. These small safety measures can go a long way to ensure you enjoy every moment in paradise.
When is the best time to visit Siargao?
Siargao Island has a dry and wet season: it’s relatively dry between March and November, while the rest of the months are frequented by monsoon rains.
If you’re going to Siargao solely for surfing, then these seasons don’t really matter. The waves are strong year-round. However, September to November are particularly enticing since various activities take place at these times, most prominent being the Siargao Cloud 9 Surfing Cup.
If you’re going to Siargao for other leisurely activities aside from surfing, then the dry season between March and November is your best bet. Take into consideration that most travelers have the same mindset, too, and Siargao might get more crowded than usual during these months.

Siargao land tour
how to explore siargao?
By Tricycle. Tricycle are usually on par with the habal-habals.
By Rented Motorcycle. You can also rent motorbikes for PHP 500 for 24 hours.
By Bike. Bikes cost PHP 150 for 24 hours.
By Car Rental. On one of our trips, we have rented a Toyota Avanza for only P3000 per day (24 hours). We’ve seen also seen posters advertising smaller cars for rent for P2500 per day.
Siargao Land Tour
You can explore the main island and see the wonders it keeps in its jagged corners and lush landscapes. Here are the usual stops of the land tour (not in order):
Magpupungko Rock Pools. During low tide, the receding coastline reveals rock formations and natural pools perfect for some leisurely swimming. It’s an all-natural infinity pool, so to speak. Entrance fee: P50.
Sugba Lagoon. Within the lagoon is a two-story docking area where you can stay and rent a table for PHP 50. The cool, turquoise waters seem to invite everyone to explore the lagoon’s site, and there’s equipment available to do just that. There are paddle boards, canoes, and snorkeling paraphernalia available onsite for rent. There’s also a diving platform you can use for free. Entrance fee: P50.
Coconut Mountain View. Siargao is carpeted with almost endless rows of coconut trees. It makes exploring the island more fun because of the relaxing green scenery and the various Instagrammable spots along the way.
Maasin River. A picturesque river, especially the spot with the bent coconut tree extending over the river. There’s a rope attached to the tree where you can swing and plunge into the river.

i’ve never been in a place that makes my heart full until i visited Siargao.
my first visit in Siargao was last November 23, 2017. Airfare were very cheap compared today, less tourists, and tourism was just starting to boom.
Of all the places i’ve been to here in the Philippines, only Siargao gave me a different feels — something i can’t put into words, something that gives an ache in the chest.
August of 2019, I kept on dreaming Siargao like literally! I missed the tropical vibe, the FOOD, and the people. It was a calling! IT WAS A SIGN! I didn’t twice. I booked a ticket and guess what’s the travel date? NOVEMBER 23, 2019!!! Exactly 2 years from the first time I went there. With our second visit, a lot have changed but the feeling was still the same. So i promised my self to go back to the island every 2 years. Reason? because it’s SIARGAO.
PS. There were too many times I tried to submit resume so I can apply apply for a job in Siargao. But, i think it’s not the perfect time for now as I cant leave the city and my job. One day 💞
While the island is known as a surfing hotspot there are so many awesome things to do in Siargao that don't involve the waves. Despite it's growing popularity over the last few years, it is still quite a cheap place to explore as is most of the Philippines.

Cloud 9 Siargao
Cloud 9 is Siargao's most popular surfing spot. This surfing paradise is in the southeast corner of Siargao, in the town of General Luna. Cloud 9 is famous for its barreling right-hand waves and thick hollow tubes that can make every advanced surfer's heart skip a beat.
The best part is that Cloud 9 has great waves all year round. But if you want to catch the ocean in its best surfing conditions, visit from September to December.
The last quarter of the year is the busiest surfing season; surfers and tourists from all over the world seek to experience the best swells.
Cloud 9 tours are popular as it's the favorite venue to showcase the talents of local and international surfers during the annual International Surfing competition, which usually held in late September or early October.
Aside from its world-class swells, Cloud 9 attracts crowds as it is easily accessible and has a beautiful, picturesque boardwalk. Cloud 9's famous boardwalk is a great spot to snap some photos.
Cloud 9 is also the most highly commercialized area in Siargao and is a popular surfing escapade in Siargao. You can find a wide selection of restaurants, souvenir shops, and several cool clothing brands here.

Siargao Island
Siargao is the best place i've ever been to.
I arrived at Sayak Airport from Mactan Cebu International Airport before noon. The van service hired by my hostel I will stay for 5 days was already waiting for me outside the airport. From the airport to the hostel took is 1.5 hours land travel.
I just rest for awhile and went to the beach, few meters away from the hostel. I looked for a cheap restaurant to eat but I didn’t find any near the beach so I found myself riding a habal-habal (motorbike) going the Cloud 9, the famous site for surfing. I found a cheap restaurant, had late lunch then proceed to boardwalk, in front of the surfing area. I took pictures and I had fun watching the surfers that are untiringly catching their waves.

SIARGAO ISLAND
Siargao is a place where you will find so many beautiful places to stay, to relax by the pool during the day and have drinks on the beach during the night.
1-Choose one of many Island hopping tours on Siargao Island and explore little islands surrounding Siargao itself. A day spent on a boat is usually a good day.
2-Cloud 9 is a world-known surfing spot as well as a touristic developed place in General Luna. So even if you are surfing or not, put this place on your list of spots to visit when in Siargao. Go for a surf or just watch other surfers while enjoying your lunch (vegan and non-vegan restaurants) on a place to be.
3-Maasin River became a famous spot on Siargao Island. A perfectly shaped palm tree leaning over Maasin River is an amazing playground for kids and adults. Local kids hand made a rope swing where you can for small entrance fee swing and jump the whole day long.
4-One day trip on the boat towards Bucas Grande will bring you to Sohoton Jellyfish Sanctuary. Although we have strong doubts about truthness of this place being a sanctuary we really loved this trip.
5-If your thinking of renting a scooter and exploring the Siargao Island on your own, you basically can´t miss the Palm trees viewpoint and Palm trees road. Both of these places are quickly becoming touristic spots and are part of the main road, offering a stunning scenic view over hundreds of palm tree fields. (amazing at sunrise)
6-A beach surrounded with the shallow reef which during low tide will create Rock Pools. The drive from General Luna takes around 45 minutes.
The rock pools will appear only on low tide so make sure you will check the tides and plan your visit for that certain time.
7-Sugba Lagoon is a 4000-hectare sanctuary, which is accessible only by boat from the harbor at Del Carmen.
It´s a jaw-dropping lagoon from a bird's eye view. Turquoise blue waters with all the small staggered islands around looks just incredible.
When the Spaniards arrived in Siargao - Philippines - they called it the Palm Tree Island.
⠀
I've never seen so many palm trees per square meter in one place.
⠀
This peak is one of those shows that nature presents us.
But Siargao is not only palm trees, they have a rock pool and several islands to visit around.
