The Donglai Pavilion is at the top of Linping hill and part of Linping Park. This architectural masterpiece built in 2004 combines traditional and modern architecture. It’s one of the main attractions in Linping district on the northern outskirts of Hangzhou. If you’re a drone enthusiast, it’s a great spot to get some epic shots especially at sunset 🌅 I went there last weekend to snap some photos. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go to the back part of the pavilion due to some current renovation works (Sep 2022) Address ➡️ Linping Park，临平公园 How to go ➡️ The hill is located between Qiushan Road 🚇 邱山station and Heyu Road 荷禹路 🚇 station. Either stations are fine. Yuhang Grand Theater, currently known as Linping Grand Theater 临平大剧院 is surrounded by a beautiful park and meandering pathways where locals go for leisurely walks, picnics, singing or playing their instruments. The theater is reflected on East Lake which was the main influence for its design by a famous Danish landscape architect. This reflection was inspired by Hangzhou’s well-known West Lake. I went there on a late afternoon and loved how big and quiet this place is. There aren’t many people around so it’s easy to walk around and find a place to sit. It becomes busy when you move closer to the small pavilions where people sing or play their instrument, but it’s nothing really overwhelming at all. Can’t afford Paris? China has got this for you 😁 TianDuCheng, also known as Sky City/ Fake Paris is located in Hangzhou’s Linping district. Large scale replica of the French capital, the area also features some iconic Parisian sights such as the Eiffel Tower, the classic Haussmaann buildings and the Versailles Gardens! The fountain, the architecture of the buildings, the landscape, the well-trimmed bushes and of course, the Eiffel Tower as back drop all in one are meant to give you those French vibes. There are some clothing shops, restaurants, convenience stores and very few tea shops. If you’re dreaming of a croissant 🥐 and ☕️ latte, Starbucks is pretty much the only option. The area isn’t as bustling as you’d expect. It was pretty calm and at times rather empty. It’s also a famous location for wedding pictures. How to go ➡️ You can take a Taxi 🚕 from Linping metro 🚇 station. The ride is about 20-30 mins.
