Zhengzhou and Kaifeng, an easy trip with kids (no ads, no filters)
A few days ago was the first autumn break, excitedly bought a sleeper train ticket for that night, direct to Henan! Sharing the real experience, no ads, no filters, let's go~
Itinerary
Sleeper train from Shanghai after 8 PM, 13 hours direct to Zhengzhou Station.
After arriving on the first day, go straight to the hotel to drop off luggage (staying near Erqi Square) ➡️ lunch (mutton soup restaurant, their roujiamo is especially delicious) ➡️ afternoon at Henan Museum (advance reservation required) ➡️ then back to the hotel for a nap ➡️ evening barbecue ➡️ walk to Erqi Square, stroll along the way, many night markets, live singers at the square ➡️ back to the hotel
Second day breakfast near the hotel with spicy soup ➡️ visit Mixue main and branch stores (newly opened, lots of merchandise) ➡️ high-speed train to Kaifeng Station ➡️ check into hotel ➡️ walk to Wansui Mountain ➡️ evening boat ride at Qingyuan Hanyuan Wharf, choose the Royal River route for better scenery; if you have no other plans after reaching the destination, don’t get off the boat, just ride back ⚠️ If you have silver notes, you can exchange them at the wharf for badges, stamps, canvas bags, etc. ➡️ back to the hotel
Order breakfast delivery ➡️ in the morning leave luggage at the hotel, walk to Wansui Mountain for a full day of fun ➡️ evening pick up luggage at the hotel and head to Kaifeng Station for the return trip
Food Highlights
Zhengzhou Station
1. Guoguo Mutton Soup Restaurant, had lunch here, the app ranking looked good, picked it randomly, but the taste was really good, highly recommend their roujiamo! Delicious
2. Fang Yong BBQ, dinner spot, recommended by others, ordered a lot: skewers, clay pot, cold dishes, and some kind of soup! Loved their cold dishes the most! Hahaha, ordered two plates. The lamb skewers were tender and tasty, others were tough, clay pot was average.
3. Tianmimi Zhengzhou brand, many flavors not found in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, worth trying
Kaifeng Station
1. Da Taipei: very windy, simple packaging, tastes like childhood milk tea, worth a try.
2. We basically had all main meals within the district, meat sausage about 4 RMB, Wudalang sesame cake about 4 RMB, water 2 RMB, recommend Indian flying cake, very tasty, bought twice!
3. When traveling, always bring some snacks, ordered takeout (Century-old Baiji) to take home, peanut brittle is really good! A bit sweet but very strong peanut flavor! Bought several more packs online after returning home.
Prices in Henan are very low, for one adult and one child, about 2500 RMB total for three days, had a great time, really got a lot for little money! Worth it to have visited twice this year!
